You can learn about the 2014 GED® program, see success stories, and try a sample test question. This personalized program guides you through the entire testing process and helps you find study help, prepare for test day, access your personal study plan and learn about colleges and jobs.

GED EXPRESS CLASSES IN MEDINA: EVENING CLASSES FOR PEOPLE IN A HURRY

Are you highly motivated to earn your GED? Do you want to learn how to manage your time better? Do you want MORE out of life than you’re getting right now? If you answered “Yes,” GED Express is designed for you. GED Express offers:

  • A custom-designed Academic Plan to identify only the classes you need

  • Focused classes to teach relevant skills

  • 7-week academic sessions to monitor your progress regularly

  • Counseling and assistance to identify your goals

The GED Express school year at Medina is divided into 7-week Sessions. New students can enter the program during Registration Week before any new Session. Registration Week is where you’ll begin your path to success through lifelong learning. You’ll sign up for the GED Express classes you need, learn how to fit school into your busy life, and explore what to do when you’ve earned your GED.

REGISTRATION SCHEDULE—GED Express at Medina County Career Center
All Registrations take place EVENING (6-8 pm)

  • Session 1 Registration: August 27, 28, and 29 (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)

  • Session 2 Registration: October 15, 16, and 17 (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)

  • Session 3 Registration: January 7, 8, and 9 (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)

  • Session 4 Registration: February 25, 26, and 27 (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)

  • Session 5 Registration: April 22, 23, and 24 (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)

After you’ve completed Registration, you’ll be able to choose your GED Express classes.

CLASS SCHEDULE—GED Express at Medina County Career Center
Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday EVENING (6-8:30 pm)

  • Session 1 Classes: September 3—October 17

  • Session 2 Classes: October 24—December 17 (no class on October 22)

  • Session 3 Classes: January 14—February 27

  • Session 4 Classes: March 4—April 24

  • Session 5 Classes: April 29—June 4


OTHER GED CLASSES IN MEDINA

Monthly registration for new students is held at the Next Step/JOG Center in Medina. You must attend both days in order to begin classes.

Project CONNECT At Medina County University Center (MCUC)

Project CONNECT is a FREE, 8-week class that focuses on the math, reading, personal, and computer skills adults need to move on to school, employment or training.

WHO Should Enroll?
Adults who have finished high school or earned a GED and are:

  • not sure what to do next

  • trying to get into training or certification programs

  • trying to get into school or college

 

WHY Should I Enroll?

  • to skip expensive remedial classes in college

  • to pass Entrance Tests for Training and Certification programs

  • to learn communication and time management skills that employers demand

  • to master computer skills you’ll need on the job and at school

ENGLISH AND PATHWAYS FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

  • Were you trained as a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, physical therapist, dentist, lab technician, or other healthcare professional before you came to the U.S.?

  • Do you want to work in a healthcare career but need help improving your English?

  • Do you want to learn more about the requirements of the U.S. healthcare system and career opportunities?

This 5-month program can help you with all these questions.
 

In the program, a teacher and career counselor will help you:

  • learn medical terminology and work-related English,

  • access an online course called “Medical Terminology: A Word Association Approach,”

  • learn about jobs in the U.S. Healthcare system,

  • develop your career pathway,

  • receive Basic Life Support training and certification,

  • learn about electronic medical records,

  • learn how to get foreign credentials verified and evaluated,

  • improve typing skills.

     

 To qualify for the class, Students must:

  • have intermediate level English skills,

  • be a permanent resident or U.S. Citizen,

  • have basic computer skills and a valid email address,

  • complete a telephone interview,

  • complete assessments.
