Advanced Law Enforcement Training
Advanced training seminars will be conducted throughout the year as indicated by the needs of the Medina County law enforcement agencies. Seminars are designed to benefit both full-time and part-time officers. Hands-on experience will be extensively utilized. Classes and seminars are sponsored in cooperation with the Medina County Police Chiefs' Association. Police Refresher and Update Training available upon request.

Volunteer Firefighter
This 36-hour course provides initial training to new firefighters. Ohio certification exam is given upon successful completion of the course and qualifies a candidate to work with a volunteer fire department. Candidates must be 18 years of age and no longer attending high school.

104-Hour Firefighter I Transition - 08.32.01
The transition course is designed to complete the training necessary to qualify a candidate to the NFPA Standard for Level I Firefighter. Students must hold a FF-1A 36-Hour Certification to enroll in this course.

136-Hour Firefighter Level II - 08.52.01
This course trains a candidate to the NFPA Standard for Firefighter II. Prerequisite: Firefighter I certification. |

16-Hour Incident Safety Officer - 08.38.01
This class meets NFPA 1521 Standard for Fire Department Safety Officer. After successful completion, students meeting FDSOA prerequisites may take the FDSOA national certification exam.

20-Hour Health & Safety Officer - 08.45.01
This course meets NFPA 1521 Standard for Fire Department Safety Officer. After successful completion, students meeting FDSOA prerequisites may take the FDSOA national certification exam.

Fire Tower
A Fire Tower is located on the premises of the Medina County Career Center. The tower is utilized for simulation drills for more comprehensive training of Fire and EMS personnel. Scheduling of the Fire Tower is arranged through the Adult & Continuing Education office. |

EMT Course
The 180 hour EMT course prepares individuals to serve on rescue squads, ambulance services and fire departments. This course includes the new National EMS Education Standards and the National EMS Scope of Practice Model which the Ohio State EMS Board has adopted. Instruction includes cognitive, hands-on and computer based learning.
