Students in the Go Green! Program will be introduced to new technologies associated with the “green” movement and sustainable  landscape design.  They will explore ways to maintain attractive environments that are in balance with the local climate that require minimal resource input such as fertilizers, pesticides and water.  Strategies will focus on sustainable designs that are functional, cost-effective, visually pleasing, environmentally friendly and maintainable.   • Examine the interrelationship of grasslands, gardens, orchards, forests and other systems

  • Explore regenerative design strategies and preservation of native and useful plants and habitats

  • Study of soils, composting and fertilizers

  • Pesticides, irrigation and drainage techniques

  • Identify and classify plants and grasses common in the horticulture industry

  • Study of business management procedures, including project costing and basic budget and accounting principles

  • Safe operation and handling of industry equipment

  • Produce landscape digital imaging computer designs

  • FFA student organization
